Tyrannosaurus rex ("king of the tyrannical lizards"), on the left, also known colloquially as "The King of the Dinosaurs," was a giant carnivorous theropod dinosaur from the Upper Maastrichtian, the last stage of the Cretaceous period.

Spinosaurus (meaning "spine lizard"), on the right, is a genus of theropod dinosaur which lived in what is now North Africa, from the Albian to early Cenomanian stages of the Cretaceous Period.
